    WSB, to be precise.

    I can only assume that BMW are being allowed to race a bike in WSB
    that isn't for sale to the public in the same way the Foggy/Petronas
    were.

    Exactly.

    You can go to your local dealer and place an order for one of the 1000
    bikes being built in 2009.

    You could do that with the litre MV the year it was due out too, but
    that didn't stop all the Jap manufacturers clubbing together to block
    Jorg Teuchert from riding one in the German superbike championship -
    the day before the first race. They would let him ride a 750 though, so
    he did, & came 7th.
