Its a world apart (for me at least) to the R1 I took out last year.
Although being allowed it for a couple of hours helped.

Its **** fast, but it just felt a lot more agreeable to ride for me.
Rain mode sucks though - it makes the bike feel like there is something
    wrong with it.

The quickshift is bloody brilliant - works at any rev range low and
high, I always understood that QS's were jerky at low revs, not so with
    the BMW.

In race mode [1] it was able to power wheelie it no problem, in sports
mode you cant do that as, as soon as the wheel comes up it cuts the
power to the engine, rather violently I might add too. Im shit a
wheelies usually, but it was so predicable.

To put it another way, if I get a deal on my 600, Im getting one :)

[1] Wasnt allowed to have the dongle to put it in slick mode :)

I wouldn't want to hit a pothole at speed on those alloys - they look
like they'd collapse evening bumping up a kerb.

    Nice looking bike generally, though.

Is it just me, or does the engine look mounted higher in the
    frame/canted further forward than normal?

Actually, for a standard one, it looks pretty fair. BMW are gonna do some
    aftermarket ones.

You ****, i got that demon out of my head too....

That was my first impression, but it seems to be fashion these days.

Or do they end up that shape to reduce emissions or somesuch?

That weird triangle shape is just the areas that don't ground out I suspect.

Mate on same gixxer as you tried it during a BMW track day and had similar
    opinion.
