I realise the above but it's still a move in totally the wrong direction.

I think we should have a Canute Clause which restricts Parliament and forces
    them to make practical legislation.

I thought we already had one, considering the number of cnuts in parliament.

It's pretty obscure, I'm surprised anyone without a doctorate in dark
ages British history picked up the GLARINGLY FUCKING OBVIOUS reference.

Can't remember the last time I went to Amsterdam and if I were to go
there tomorrow I'd have no interest in going to a coffee house. My
memory (hah!) of the impact of smoking dope when in my teens was that
it robbed me of all ambition and drive to do anything apart from
    possibly munch on snack foods.

Guess I'm middle aged but I don't really give a shit about this.
However... I have to ask... you're an old fucker so why do you care?
Surely your idea of a good time isn't going to Amsterdam and sitting
in some filthy smoke filled hovel getting stoned?

You forgot the part about watching young girls get stoned then
    following them home....

Heh. I still go to Amsterdam most years and rather regret leaving the
place. It was a strategic and business mistake.

Why it bothers me is also as part of a regressive attitude to drug use.

As a certified geezer, I find it very effective at relieving lower
    back pain.
40 years ago, I spent a lot of time laying about while stoned, but now
I seem _more_ productive when high than straight. I dunno, perhaps
it's the quality or the strain, but chores get done and I am more
creative. I do have a habit of taking a lot of dumb photos, though.
    Pot shots, I call 'em.
