Saddlebags / Panniers for Honda VTX1800

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by Alastair Bryers, Jul 5, 2005.

  1. I'm looking for leather saddlebags/ panniers to fit my Honda VTX1800.
Can anybody recommend a retailer's web site or if in NSW an address?

Well you don't seem to have had any replies - have you checked the
usual suspects ? Your local bike shop, the online accessories retailers
    etc ?

    http://www.amcmotorcycles.com/
    http://www.maw.com.au
    http://www.mcas.com.au/

For a start. There's others that aren't coming to mind at the moment.

Also do a google search on the subject - it may well be cheaper to get
a set in from the US - the Yanks buy the Uber-Cruisers(1) by the
boatload hence there's a lot more in the way of accessories available
over there - they don't sell in huge numbers here in Oz.

    (1) It's a new category I just made up to include the VTX18, VN2000 and
    RocketIII
(but how do you do the U with the dots on it (umlaut ?))

Further to that - Google just had a list of paid ads come up on the
right hand side as I posted this, check out the following as well

    http://www.leatherneckjim.safeshopper.com/
    http://bargainpricewholesale.com/
    http://www.motorcycle-accessories-warehouse.co.uk
    http://www.aerostich.com/home.php?cat=280

Or if you live in a country town go see your local saddler - he'll
probably do a better job for half the price.

How dare you create another class of bike without consulting Hammo and GS
    and Clem.

  5. Thanks for that info. I have just ordered a set of Vance and Hines Pipes
from the US but wasn't in time to order panniers to catch the shipment. I
would rather see the panniers before buying as the photos on the web don't
always show them clearly enough. Nor do they always explain what fitments
might be required. So I'll give the Aus sites a go.
Thanks again for the help.... time to go shopping!!

and of course, guzzi did it in the 70's. You ride one bike with cyclinders,
    you 've ridden them all.

    And I'm not a horse

And why did you snip the U with the pimples? I was showing off, bastard
    pansy from the north

Now you are just showing off. Is it true the Qld RL team thought the match
    was next Wed?
