Santa called at Halfords

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by The Older Gentleman, Dec 25, 2009.

  1. And picked up a big pack of those Professional extendable ratchet
    spanners. :)

    Good ol' Santa.

He also called at a few off-licences on his way. Also good.

I think Santa was a bit too pissed last night. The bastard saw an advert for
money off Halfords professional tools. The drunken fucker then thought it'd
be a good idea to buy a new socket and spanner set. Whilst it is a very
high quality piece of kit indeed, drunken purchases at 01:30 on Xmas day,
accompanied by 'sod it, they can deliver' bash the old credit card a
    little.

Gin&Tonic have a lot to answer for this morning.

Whereas if he'd opened them last night he would have been German.

He's very good that way. I dunno how he got a Core I7 27" iMac down our
chimney, but he did it without even tearing the wrapping paper.

    Clever Fucker.

Silly, he did it the same way he got himself down the chimney.
    Magic.

    I thought everybody knew that!

He missed the off-licence for me, but called into a model shop and got me
two 4 channel eleccy helicopters for indoor flying.

I think an afternon of combat with my lad is on the cards. I'll unwrap 'em
soon and then send the dogs fucking nuts.

Ooooh which one? I'm thinking of getting another Walkera to upgrade from
    my contra-rotating job.
    Get some

I got a couple of these http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11379 for
the kids (and me) we've been having gun battles all round the house most of
    the day. Great fun.

E-Flite MSR. Fixed pitch 4 channel and a shit load of laughs. It's not
capable of aerobatics, but I've got a few heli's that are, so I got these
for farting about with. Brilliant fun trying to knock another out of the sky
and so far neither of us have managed it, so no damage done to either.
    Nuts or more dogs?

Not easy? They're a piece of piss, but I have a little experience. I've also
ordered a Walkera 4g6 coz they can fly arse upards.

It's only practice, and beware of ceiling suck, as has already been
    suggested.

Hah. Surely sneering at those who do as working class is merely a

Fortunately Dealextreme is Leftpondian (I think) and source their
    merchandise from Hong Kong

If you consider Hong Kong leftpondian. :)

It's a HK company, which shows clearly when trying to interact
with the customer service droids. Engrish galore. Still, you get
free shipping in exchange. Personally, I think that HK Postal Service
is run by some Bond-villain-wannabe preparing to take over the world.
    It's the only logical explanation.

Indeed, but the manufacturing base has all but disappeared in the country. I
    blame the kids.

I've not seen a pea-shooter for years, or a decent spud gun for that matter.

Excellent. Was one of my shortlisted, but it's quite a bit more than the
    Walkera.
    Either. Both.

I bought 2 pistol crossbows from an Ebay shop. One 50lb pull and one 80lb
pull. They aren't terribly lethal but are quite good fun in a shoot the
    neighbour's cat stylee.
