Sat nav for bikes

    Did this require any "engineering" on your part or is stuff you can buy
    off the shelf from RAM? I note Steve's comments elsewhere in this thread
    that his model is mounted differently.

    Mounted with off the shelf kit.

    Garmin power lead comes with bare wires so I soldered a Euro/DIN male plug
    onto it, and simply plug into the accessory socket on my bike. You could
    take it direct to the battery or fuse box. This lead has a power connector
    for the 2610 and an audio socket (I don't use that).

    The unit fits into a cradle which has a RAM mounting ball in the base. This
    can be attached to your bike with whatever RAM mounting kit best suits. I
    use a simple handlebar clamp.

    It's this one http://www.ram-mount-uk.com/ram-hol-ga9.htm with the B-149
    articulated joint/U bracket mount.

    Simple to operate: when refuelling I simply unclip it and carry it with me
    or stash it in the topbox.

    There's a gallery on that site which may provide a solution for your bike.
