has there been a diplomatic incident, or has he been quarantined for
looking a bit peaky?

 

Why? He's gone touring in his car, not on the bike.

 

He's had his hair cut. That will probably cause an incident or two.

 

Is he touring again now, or still at the mercy of garlic eating
surrender mechanics?

 

I understand a couple of hundred quid saw the car fixed and and he's
back on tour.

 

Perhaps he's set up a webcam to look at the sat-nav on his bike in case
the one in the car gets lost?

 

Had it dyed ginger has he?

Nope, I don't know why, and yes, it is a workaround.
My zumo updates without the sd card in, but one of the ones I look after
doesn't? Strange, but with the sd card in does. On this particular one, I
haven't deleted anything, so maybe, because of the un-needed voices, it
gobbles up the memory required. It may actually have a faulty memory
location?
TBH IDRGAF as long as I can get the updates to run as and when I want them
to. ;o)

Fitted my Telferizer tonight and it works an absolute treat.

I've clamped it on to the clip-on between the clutch lever mount and the
top yoke, seems pretty solid and sits in just the right place. So that's
the physical bit done, now I need to work out the best way to take the
fairly useless power lead they've provided - plug at one end, plain wire
at the other - and hook it in to the loom.

I could just pick up some crimp-on connectors and fit an inline fuse as
per the fag-lighter socket I've installed, but it might make a bit more
sense if the satnav feed made use of the ignition switch.
