Going home last (20:00) last night following a camera van (big transit, flourescent bottom, camera pics on top of doors as usual) down the recently resurfaced A35 at 60 (although the signs saying "Eeek danger slippy slidy gravel best to 10mph at most, probably less or you'll skid to death" were still there).[1] When he pulled into a layby the legend "Community Reassurance" was on the side instead of "Safety Camera Unit". What's all this then? I didn't feel at all reassured and I'm part of the community - it's where I get my care. Do the powers that be really think that there is anybody stupid enough[2] to be reassured by having a speed camera van parked at the side of the road? Oh well, back to work. [1] Warning - bracket quota exceeded - moving to footnotes [2] I suppose there must be - how else would they catch baddies?
