Scamera vans relabelled?

Going home last (20:00) last night following a camera van (big transit,
flourescent bottom, camera pics on top of doors as usual) down the
recently resurfaced A35 at 60 (although the signs saying "Eeek danger
slippy slidy gravel best to 10mph at most, probably less or you'll skid
to death" were still there).[1]

When he pulled into a layby the legend "Community Reassurance" was on
the side instead of "Safety Camera Unit". What's all this then?
I didn't feel at all reassured and I'm part of the community - it's
where I get my care.

Do the powers that be really think that there is anybody stupid
enough[2] to be reassured by having a speed camera van parked at the
side of the road?

Oh well, back to work.

Sadly your average resident classes speeding as one of the top 5 weevils.

Obviously the average residents should be gang raped, stabbed 20 times,
doused in petrol and burnt.

 

Probably the type of person like the one interviewed on the radio this
morning. Her daughter got hit by a cyclist, thwacked her head on the
pavement and died 6 days later. She did actually use the phrase
"something must be done".

 

Yes but the particular cyclist **** needed culling TBF if some of the
Transcript is to be believed.

 

Did they mention they'd been down the park drinking special brew before

If it's the Jason Howard malarky yes. Witnesses anonymous and
conflicting stories. He's still a ****, all said and done he could have
just rode around them, but don't think they were innocent goody two
shoes out shopping for dear old mum. Silly waste of life if you ask me.
