Scooters

I'm remotely considering the idea of buying a s/h scooter to get to
work on rare occasions; The requirements are that it has enough
storage space to lob in a suit and PC (and possibly helmet). My Z
doesn't have the space for this and I'll be damned if I'm going to sit
in the car and take 2,5 hours to do 30 miles again.

I know this has been done to death, but aside from leaving a suit in
the office, I reckon that if I stuff a suit jacket in a tank bag,
it'll be in a right state when I take it out.

    Any recommendations?

Off the peg. You'll ruin a made-to-measure one.

Put it in a proper suit carrier, and strap that to the pillion seat.

It depends on what you want to achieve and how much you can spend.
The Chinese scoot only cost me a few hundred, hardly used, and a
cheap Rickman top box makes it ideal as a shopping trolley, it never
goes more than 5 miles from home so 50cc is not an issue.
A 125 would be nicer for reasonably short trips but the 50 was CHEAP.
For longer journeys such as a regular 30 mile commute a superscoot
such as the Majesty would be more practical an have more stowage.
Superscoots tend to hold their price well, whatever you choose you
are going to want a decent top box, the underseat space is usually
helmet size plus a few gubbins.

Several suits to leave at the office will be fewer than the cost of
buying & running a 'ped, & the laptop can go in a rucksack.

Most of the "normal" sized scooters have storage for one ful face helmet
under the seat , so you'd probably need a top box as well.
The maxi-scooters like a T-Max have better "Boot" space and might have
    enough room

People still wear suits? Blimey, I thought that was just in Asia they
    did that now.

Why not wear the suit under some suitably sized bike gear? PC in a tank bag.

MP3 with a topbox, suite in a carrier hooped over the front of the
    topbox, easy :)

Helmets & other shite go under the seat, they really are great fun.

I was thinking of something in the 250cc range as they tend to be
bigger (duh!) and will do comfortably 130kph.

Roll the suit jacket/trousers up rather than fold.

But for the love of god don't tuck the latter into the former at the
    waist.
