    In that case copy it and make it longer so it bends
    under the brake arm and out again to clear the
    sprocket bolt.

    ...but attached to the back of the torque arm, so the nib comes in at 7
    o'clock and misses the brake hub plate, chain and socket cap screws.

    Check out the bit where they say which way the nib's slash-cut should
    be facing. It doesn't tell you to dispense the oil onto the sprocket
    itself, it more or less tells you to direct it onto the chain. Common
    sense dictates that you put the oil onto the chain, not the sprocket.

    Anyhows, oiling the chain in the way I do works for me - 13,500 on the
    Versys and still only needed to adjust the chain once at 7,500 miles. I
    fully expect this chain and sprockets to last over 30,000 miles at this
    rate.
