Screwed on a Shoei Raid

    Hi,

I've got a 2 year old Shoei Raid helmet, and have lost the upper
plastic screw that holds the visor mount to the helmet.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, did you find a replacement
screw, use superglue, or buy a whole new visor mounting. How much does
    the mounting cost?

    Cheers.

It should have come with spare screws - all Shoeis I've had in the
last fifteen years (3 off) have done so. Usually in the zip-sealed
plastic bag with the instructions and warranty card.

Failing that, get down to any half-decent dealer - I'd be very
surprised if anyone would charge you for a replacement screw.

As it happens, I broke the mounting plate and screw on my Shoei exCeed
recently, but managed to cannibalise it's predecessor, which I'd been
keeping for spares. Then again, maybe it's time for new lid anyway as
that's not the first time it's been dropped...

    Ta for the replies.

Nope - I didn't get any spare screws in the plastic bag when I bought
    the helmet (

I've emailed Shoei Europe, and they told me to use the "dealership
locator" on the web site. I got two Shoei dealership "hits" nearby in
Crewe. The first dealership said we don't sell that many Shoei helmets,
and use the other dealership. The other dealership (where I originally
bought my helmet) said they don't sell the screws by themselves, only
as part of a kit - probably the entire visor mount.

    I'll find another dealership...

They do get loose. Best to check & tighten them up periodically.

I fear this advice may be a little late for you ;-)

Lozzo of this parish deals in lids, and owns about 7 at last count. I'm
sure he will be able to liberate/obtain one on your behalf ..

My screw fell out while I was on holiday in France. Turns out I got
"over excited" about screwing, and tightened it too much.

Had a look at http://www.bykebitz.co.uk, but they seem to sell helmets,
    not the screws.

And I have a perfectly fine Suomy Gunwind sitting on the shelf because
I refuse to pay nearly £40 for some replacement visor brackets which
broke because: a) They are of a cheap and nasty construction; and b)
    because I is a clumsy ****.

I am down to only three usable helmets at the moment :(

    Mine didn't.
Should I return to that shop, whose name I have forgotten,
in Farnborough and ask an assistant for a screw?

    says...
Make that 47 :) I have a few odd visor plate screws here if the OP
wants one. I can't promise it will fit though.

What the OP needs to do is go to any shop that sells Shoeis and order a
screw kit, they cost next to bugger all and any Shoei dealer will be
    able to supply one.

  11. Try calling / visiting, the screw I obtained was from a jam jar of
useful bits so unlikely to be referred to on the webshite.
