Seat heat questions

  1. Hi,
Well I am not new to bikes but will be getting my first big bike shortly.
What I want to know is the seat heights of the following bikes...

CBR600 various models from E reg to about P
    VFR400
    ZZR600
    ZX6R
    CBR 400 Gullarm.

    Cheers...

Yebbut seat heights mean bugger all if you don't know how wide the seat is
etc etc.... Cos you could work out that you can get both feet down then ,
when you get on the thing find that it splays yr legs like John Wayne abd
the 'lower' bike is worse than the taller bike....

At a guess, in order of height they're:

    VFR4, CBR4, ZZR, CBR6, ZX6

.... but if you like 'em then go to a shop/a number of shops and try
*everything* they have that you like the look of. Them, when you have a
shortlist (no pun intended), test ride 'em all..... And buy your favourite
(bot not necessarily from a shop...)

But also take into account the fact that the seat height on a model can
alter year-on-year. Younger ZXR4's like mine have a much taller seat
    height, for instance.

I believe so, but I'm not having much success in finding a place that
    sells the kits.

  6. Well I decided the best way would be to go around and try all the ones I
liked. Anyway, tried loads including a cb500 ( as this is what my test will
be on) and a gsxr400 which was small and nice but not really what I wanted.

I found a zzr600 on a M plate in the colours I wanted at the right price.
I went around and tried to find a better one but couldn't so I bought it and
it will now live in my hallway till my test. :) What a nice incentive that
    will be.

    Cheers,

    Lynda

P.s I still wouldn't mind having it lowered slightly

    Why not, the riding position?
Aw bum, my small ZXR will be on the market soon. Enjoy the ZZR though.
    When's the test?

Nice one. It'll keep you interested long after your test. Which is more
than could be said for a CB-5. I'd have thought the baby GIXER would have
suited though... still, the zzR would have been my choice. (but I am a
    bloke afterall)

Incidentally, what have you managed to get quoted for insurance? Can imagine
it wont be cheap, newly qualified rider and all...

I have a 29" inside leg and can ride a 830mm seat height on my Gixxer.
