Yes, that's right. It was still harsh week then.

C'mon Josh; you're not fooling us. You didn't know how to adjust "tappets"
and yet you were happy to attempt a complete disassembly?!!?

Ignorance is bliss... and sometimes expensive, like when you pull things
apart that wont go back together, or go back together using fewer parts.
Plus i assumed people would tell me what to do next after splitting cases...
how wrong i would have been...haha.
On another note, any news on the 125....still interested....and would
like to have a look at it sometime in the next few days?. My weekends are
killer tho... work non stop from thursday night to saturday afternoon.

We took it out on Sunday and found that the fuel-line was blocked and just
    crumbled when we removed it.
A mate found some line but then we found the carby was full of a
kerosine-smelling thick yellow liquid instead of petrol.
Drained and full of fresh petrol we were thwarted again by the battery which
    was dry and corroded-looking.

We had nothing 6V to jumper it from and we were sick of pushing it so it
went back on the trailer! (I'm wondering if 4 NiCad AAs in series might
    do....)

Drop over any-time that suits you. If there's no-one home you can still
    have a look-see.
    Cheers ..... Clem

  11. You'll want 5 nicads to get 6 volts - they're 1.2 volts per cell...

I suspect they'd work just fine though...

Hmmm... I wonder if Jaycar sell any 5-battery holders...... (a bit of 20mm
    conduit perhaps..)

gNat just got a price on a brand new battery and it's only $25 so we might
    lash out.....

a lot of the old stuff will run without a battery
like the posties and stuff , just the lights wont work

do you have a battery charger with a 6 volt switch ?
can use that to check lights etc

    or try this place
    http://www.wescomponents.com/

    6v sla 4ah

  18. If it was the VT you had then, it probably would have saved you (or someone
    else) some grief.
