The lad christened his one piece leathers today with our trip to the
Stafford show. He now realises that whilst they may be needed for his
hill climb exploits next year they aren't all that practical for walking
round in all day (particularly with Fox MX boots) and going to the loo.

When we got home I dug out my ancient leather jacket bought mail order
from Pride and Clarke when I was 17. Despite being only nearly 13 it
fits him fairly well and is only a bit too long in the sleeves (must be
all that hanging on climbing holds). Rather grubby lining, but made of
decent thick cowhide. A feed with Liquid Leather and it will be ready to
wear. I reckon SWMBO's old but seldom worn Ashmans leather trousers will
fit him now (for a while).

We also unearthed my Lewis Leathers Dolomite gloves and a pair of
Belstaff waxed cotton over-mitts, but he didn't seem to think they had
    quite the same street cred.

In some quarters making him wear these would be deemed as Child abuse

I suspect he was close to the latter at one point during the day while
dad was gassing with the UKRM old farts.

That might have been on the cards, sort of, if he had been foolish
enough to take on Andy's challenge to solo the frontage of the 'pub' we
were chatting outside inside the main hall. TBH, if it wasn't for the MX
boots I think he may well have been daft enough to at least start up it.

Having slept in one for a couple of weeks once, in winter, I can
confirm they're crap at keeping anything warm. I suppose they might be
better if you can find one that runs.

Only the delux model - the basic ones didn't have the heated rear
    windscreen as standard.
