One of those nasty inspector types prowling around the motorcycle
parking area in the carpark next to Canberra House...

And he was putting orange notices on bikes and taking away the number
    plates. Two bikes were "done"...

He didn't seem to be the least bit interested in the cars... Wonder
whether it's the same bloke I saw a couple of weeks ago eyeing the
bikes very closely and keying things into his little hand-held machine.
I reckon there's some sort of blitz on bikes at the moment in Canberra.
We're taking up valuable revenue-earning car spaces after all (when
those designated spots aren't stolen by cars, that is....and to be
fair, they're not too bad in that particular car park - but in
Belconnen Mall, at any time of day or night...... aaaargh!)

geez Isaac, don't talk technical...... what's a MotoMorini? It's not
one of those blokes who keeps falling over in the World Cup and
pretending to be hurt is it???? <snigger>

Lemme get this straight. You saw some prick stealing number plates from
motorcycles, and the most useful thing you thought of to do in response
    was post to aus.moto? :)

Only the greatest Italian marque in the history of the Galaxy!
( I do tend to exagerate). I needed something to rhyme with "maid".
In reality in living memory MM made a nice 350 V Twin and then a 500 V
Twin. Have seen the 350 but not the 500. Believed to be still in production.

Betty, not sure if you know about these spots at the Belco mall:

there are 6 or 8 prime bike spots (complete with lovingly painted lines
for each bike spot!) outside the lakeside carpark at ground level...and
they can't be taken by cars, it is surrounded by some sturdy metal
railings. Only a stones throw from where the Aus post PO boxes are, if
you know where they are at the mall...very handy because its near most
of the ATMs on the ground level.

There is also an official bike spot for at least 15 or 20 bikes, outside
the entrance to coles (on the other side of the mall) which is never
taken up by cars (well, never when I have parked there, anyway). Usually
    plenty of room too!

there such a word?) and my world cup wackiness sort of collided
somewhere in cyberspace..... (how happeneth it???)

ooh, thanks Ufo, I didn't know about those ones.
Well that's the place that really shits me - on the last 3 occasions
that I've been there (2 of them in my car and only one on the bike)
there have been cars sitting in or across the access to the bike
parking. The one time I was on the bike I gave the cager the evil eye
and he moved his bloody car without a word (gosh I felt BIG!) but when
I wander across from my car I feel a bit scared to rap on windows,
point to "motorcycle parking" signs and try to look menacing..... hard
when you're 5'3" and female, and that gets really annoying sometimes

betty, still a chicken when the helmet comes off
    (cluck cluck)

  12. I'm guessing its mba school holidays - I reckon the only time JL posts
these days is when he's _supposed_ to be studying or doing assignments
    or something :)

I'm thinking it would probably be a retrograde step for miss betty -
buying clothes can be a real pain in the arse.
Moving house plus a whole heap of other crap on at the moment

Fair enough. I only post when I'm supposed to be marking ... deciphering
the inane comments of those who were supposed to be paying attention ...

Yeah - clothes for 5'3" women are probably easier to find.

As long as you are size 10 of course. If you are built more um...
generously then they are just as hard to find as ones for short
    blokes.
