The mailbox for my domain is swamped with &*^%&%$ viagra and herbal crap.

Most of the stuff is bounced messages from mailer daeomons as the spam fakes a random return address at my domain.

Most of the messages refer to domains owned/registered/hosted in China.

Why can;t they follow tme money trail to close down these spammers?

    This is killing the net.

Because the money trail also leads to the donations funds of the current US
government (and probably half the dems too) - there's two reasons why the US
anti spam bill was so half arsed - the first was funds in banks, the second was
that they didn't want to have their campaigning affected by it (look forward to
being spammed by the bushies in nov...) note the specific exclusion of the govt
and churches from the spam act

What shits me is that my ISP gave me a month or two free spam filter which
PROVES THAT THEY CAN IDENTIFY SPAM at the ISP level so they can surely
    block it there too!
(Is it a privacy issue Theo or are d'yer think they're just happy to have
    that volume of [chargeable] traffic?)

    Reorganised for clarity.
Oh I think I might. Well why don't you educate us then instead of ranting.

Well aren't we keen to strut our geekdom. No thanks, this thread has now reached a natural death in this forum.

Thanks, you;ve been fun! But go ahead and re-reorganise to your hearts content.

    PS.

Redeem thyself. Suggest a functional REGEX to deal with server-side spam filtering of subject lines with fullstops in every word...
no wait... dont tell me... you actually download all the crap locally first?

I'd have thought you, of all people, would get it. Still,
it never ceases to amaze me how many people just don't
get Rod Speed. Fools, all of them!
