    Hi,
I'm in London for a couple of months and realised that my R1100R will
need a service before I can even dream of being home... So I'm looking
for a BMW dealer's address, one that does a good job and doesn't just
try to squeeze as much as possible from my wallet!
    Thanks for your suggestions. Pierre

Oh dear are you in for a shock. There are only a few official BMW motorcycle
dealers within the M25 and I am not sure any of them will meet your
criteria. Have a look at the 'dealers' forum on www.ukgser.com and you may
find an official one or an independent near to you who has a good
    reputation.

Back when I had BMWs I used Euroclassics in Northampton. Very good[1],
and cheaper than most main dealers even when you factor in the train
    ticket.

[1] As in - I've found Phil a lot better than the main dealer.

They aren't too bad. If you're stuck in London and don't want to go
too far they're a good bet...

    Hi Pierre -

Which side of London are you living or working? SPC Motorcycles -
    http://www.spc-bmw.co.uk/site.html - are about 50 miles south-west of
Central London, near Alton in Hampshire -
    http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.s...94&st=4&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf.
They are BMW-only and are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. It depends
what level of service your bike needs. If it's a quickie, they have an
in-house cafe with internet access. If it's a bit longer, they'll lend you
a bike to go exploring for the day. Call the service guys on 01420 588702
for an estimate and a date.

There's Coopers in Reading, just down the M4. They've always been very
good with test rides and spares - dunno about servicing.

    Hi !
Well I live in Shepperd's Bush, so it's already in the south west.
    It's the 20000Km service (don't know in miles, 12000?), so it's fairly
big service. But I can go for the day, and borrow a bike from them and
enjoy the countryside there! Great idea! I'll check out on the one in
    Hertfordshire too.
    Thanks!

Good. From the forum, it seems that the best bets are SPC and South
London Motorcycles, so I'll go for one or the other, depending on the
surrounding countryside as I'll borrow a bike from them...
    Thanks, Pierre
