Servicing recommendation, S/SW London

Moved house again (yawn, getting fucking sick of this now....), now in
Wandsworth. Due a major service on my Bind'it, so went into Metropolis
and spoke to the service department. The attitude of the muppet I spoke
    to immediately put me off[1][2].

So, anyone have any recommendations for places in S/SW London for
servicing? Dealership status is not important, just someone I know is
    doing a decent job[4]. I reckon a 15-20 mile radius from SW18 is about
    where I'm looking...

[1] Suck air through teeth - "ooh, that's a big one {fx: let me think of
a number and double it}, plus you'll need chain, sprockets, tyres etc etc"

[2] Given stories I've heard, this probably shouldn't surprise me, but
    it's still irritating...[3]

[3] Although their parts department were very helpful with the indicator
I bust after disc lock brain-**** at the weekend...

[4] Anyone who suggest I do it myself needs to consider that I'm a
mechanical muppet, so such suggestions must be backed up by willingness
for *them* to do it for 1/2 dealership rates (plus willingness for me to
    watch/learn)

Welcome to the neighbourhood. All-you-can-eat ribs at the Spur in
Southside - not exactly classy but top value.
Wheelpower, Raynes Park. Not heard anything bad about them and they were
fine when I took my K4 750 in for a major service. There's a bus runs
from Wimbledon and Raynes Park stations straight past the shop so
dropping a bike off and picking it up again is fairly simple.

  3. I'll do it. I'll even teach you how to do it.
But you must bring it to Normandy.
No, not the one near Guildford.
The big one, with beaches that's 150 road miles from London.

Chasbikes. Couldn't recommend them highly enough. For 2 years they did
everything on my CB500 (bar the engine replacement). Thoroughly honest
and reliable with dedicated and reasonably enthusiastic mechanics.

Special award if you make Chas crack a smile.

Hmmmm... tempting, but if I'm going that far, I might as well carry on
around the rest of the continent, which would really make another bike
purchase a reasonable prospect, which would make it rather an expensive
    service....

  8. Sunami, Morden, 0208 646 1554. Ask for Dennis. Mention my name if you
think it might help, or want a smack in the chops.
