****. I've got to work all but the statutory holidays, and have a
load to get done - it was supposed to be quiet too.

    Happy Xmas all the same.

Well done, me too, I volunteered to work the days between Xmas and NY
but was told India can handle it.

ditto, if we can keep the 'W' word off the menu till Jan 4th that'd be
    great!

I got carried away, and have enough booze to last until...whenever.

Why the **** did I buy 64 bottles of Leffe, for example?

And where the **** did all this cider come from? I don't remember
buying it (the answer to the conundrum may be recursive in nature).

Food-wise, again, far too much. I'm doing a
    chicken/duck/turkey/proscuitto-topped "Turducken" + a 2kg gammon +
    *another* "emergency" chicken. Meat-tastic.

Last summary menu for tomorrow indicates I'm doing 9 different sorts
    of vegetables as well.

I'm almost afraid to ask, but what kind of emergency can be resolved
    by using a cooked chicken.

I've only got the next five days off, and I slept til 2.30pm today.

So to get the ball rolling, and catch up a bit, I've just drained a
bottle of Kahlua and a healthy dose of vodka, now on to the Maker's
    Mark.

    Tomorrow may be... interesting.

  14. A not very scientific test of bourbons showed that one out of the total
of me found MM to be the most drinkable of the cheap bourbons. They
also had the best distillery tour.

No food, no booze, back to work on Tuesday, then off to Leeds for 7
months in January. I love my job.

IMO Western gold bourbon from Lidl takes its place at the other end of the
    scale.

It's pretty good stuff really. Not quite JD Single Barrel, but at least
    it's not scotch.

Sainsbury's own-brand bourbon is revolting. Tastes like scotch. Ugh.
