Shaft drive vs Chain drive - benefits or drawbacks?

    I test rode a Guzzi V11 then current model 18 months ago and the torque effect
    of blipping the throttle stationary was VERY noticeable, at a 100K it was a
    light push on the left hand when I gave it a fist full, I'd imagine regular
    guzzisti have tuned it out

  3. That's it John, if you ride them all the time, you just don't notice it
    anymore. The only people that have been scared by BMW boxers torque
    reaction "throwing" them into the corner is people that don't ride them
    usually, there is nothing wrong with the bike just their riding technique
    doesn't suit the bike (ie you'll get used to it). The Guzzis I've ridden
    have a much stronger torque reaction than the boxers (I haven't ridden an
    early heavy flywheel boxer though)

    My self I couldn't believe the side to side rocking on a 1200 Bandit the
    first time I rode one. Coming from a K series BM, I hadn't felt such a
    thing. You'd probably tune that out too as a regular rider.

    Yeah you do indeed, although I only ever notice it stationary at idle (is it
    noticeable while riding ?).

  5. I only noticed it at idle too, but it surprised me from an inline four.
