He's right, I've seen many people share bikes with a mate or two on
    lots of trackdays.

As long as both riders are signed on and have wristbands they don't
care what bike they are riding. Most companies have a different
coloured screen sticker for each group (red- fast, yellow - inters,
green - novice), you just have to make the pit team aware that two
people share a bike in two groups and they tend to remember you.

If you're doing it right you need half an hour to take the slack out of
the stretched throttle cable, not cool the fucking brakes

I suppose I should have clarified - you can do it, but just don't tell
    them.
as someone else pointed out, if you can somehow signal the other
person to come in a couple of laps early, you should be OK.

Most of the text of the description in that auction makes me go all
    stabby.

well, yes: dubious use of the first person reflexive pronoun, and some
obvious spelling mistakes ("a cult bike" for example).

I don't know what one of those is.
    heh.

Then there are all the feral apostrophes, but I've already made one
    Pip-esque anti-FA post today.

"Myself" instead of "me" or "I".

As used by TGI Friday waitrons (as parodied by Catherine Tate).

Ah yes, of course. I know, and hate, incorrect usage of it but didn't
know what the proper term for it is.

Absolutely. And in this case it's not even consistent, mixing It and
    She arbitrarily, it seems.

Mine dew, one step worse is when people give their bikes names. It's a
    machine, FFS!

    I know. It's fucking annoying.
that tends to be wimmin and cruiser riders, mind, so you can't expect
    any sort of sense.

It was a joke - I was insinuating that he'd mispelled "**** bike".

Boats/ships have names, trains have names, cars have names[1].

I wonder where it all started.

That's why we went for the 600. Excellent handling (and a chassis I'm
really used to) but not too much power to get us into trouble. We can
concentrate on the tracks and the lines, rather than controlling silly
    amounts of power.
