I have already made the greatest contribution to the fight against climate
change that I can make: I have decided not to breed. Now quit bugging me and
go and talk to the Catholics.

  3. It is rumoured so. But I look at it that I've got all the jabs and I
don't plan to exchange bodily fluids with anyone that I wasn't married
    to.

The only all-inclusive I've done was in the Dominican Republic in
1997[1]. When we told people that we had gone outside of the complex,
they were flabbergasted. Some of them never left the hotel itself, let
    alone the general complex.

I can't understand why someone would go to a place such as the DR and
then never leave the hotel, especially when they could have done pretty
much exactly the same for cheaper in a similar place in the Med.

[1] And was where I dived for the first ever time, getting back to the
    subject of this sub-thread.

  6. We were on an AI in the Dominican Republic a couple of years ago and on
most of the dive trips to (Catalina Island) I was adopted (accosted) by
a very large 'black momma' who called me Papa Noel (as did most of the
dive leaders) and she would not let my plastic cup of Cuba Libra empty
and it was a 50/50 mix. A point for the H&S people this was after the
    dives.

A wonderful time with wonderful people. Diving was average but the sea
    was warm and clear.

heh. The Cuba Libras I had there ranged from about a 30/70 mix to
70/30 depending on, well, nothing really. It was pretty random what
    you got.
Being my first, this was an introductory dive that I only did because
we got pissed with the bloke that ran the "try it out in the pool" type
outfit in a bar[1] outside the complex. He spotted us because of the
wristbands and we got chatting, then got drinking, etc., etc.

I remember being in the boat and being asked first to go in. The bloke
said "Go down, stand on the bottom wait. It's about 3 metres". Now
when you've only ever pissed around with SCUBA in a pool, this seemed
quite daunting. But the 30 minutes or so we were underwater absolutely
flew by. We eventually went to about 10 metres or so, and as you say
it was lovely and warm and clear.

[1] Called Rum Runners and there was a top, top band playing. Their
drummer was a session musician and had played with Santana. I ended up
singing vocals on Hotel California for them later on. And I was ver'
    ver' drunk.
