They have a nice sort of romper suit looking affair that's reasonably
priced, and they're just down the road from me, but it's not half *black*.
I've seen people riding round in high vis "I work on a building site in
the rain" things that I thought were a bit fun from the "everyone has
    blurry wet windows" perspective.
I'm a bit un-confident tbh, and I've only been out in the rain once so
far. I find my observations are much poorer, and I feel smaller and more
huddled as a result of the weather and the heavy skies. Being bright
orange has an appeal in those circumstances. I suppose a high-vis vest is
possible over the top, but is that really likely? Vest OVER romper suit
    OVER leathers?

Sounds like the one I have, black is good.
See, I've considered the high vis thing, but Pip of this parish has a
convincing shape, speed, silhouette argument that i can't remember as
to why black is the sensible choice.
I think being aware of the unconfidence is a good thing.
My first long ride not long after passing my test was in absolutely
foul rain and high winds. Since then weather hasn't really bothered
me, but I'd rather ride in the dry.
    It will keep you warm

My honesty is beyond reproach. I do not shit where I sleep.
There are proper ways of doing things.

Actually Buster's are flogging off some Akito waterproofs for about 15
Imperial British Pounds Sterling, if you quote the code MCN0707 to the
salesdroid. I use these waterproofs myself on occasion, I haven't got
    wet yet.

  11. Yes, though not at all flattering, perfectly adequate for the job.

  12. "Half the speed twice the fun" as Lethario is want to say.

I disagree quite strongly with him, I feel it is much more fun than
    that.

It's another part of accepting a bike into your life.

Mine aren't but they are different. All you are seeing is the road[1]
behaving in a way you are not familiar with. You have seen it in the
dry and have learnt some of it's ways and are reacting to it,
subconsciously probably. See it in the rain for the first time and with
who knows 3 maybe 4% of the cages seeing it for the first time as well
and it ain't the same road. You'll get used to it.

I have a Gericke one and an Akito one, both are 100% waterproof but
the Akito one scores higher for having the ability to fold into its
own bum-bag thingy that straps around your waist. Handy on the Triumph
because the useless cunts at Hinckley designed it to have **** all
boot space once the alarm box is fitted.

Naturally I didn't pay for either set of waterproofs, that would be
    just wrong.

I forgot about that useful feature (the waterproofs, not the Triumph).
One-piece w/ps are a bit of a faff to get on, but once you have the
    knack, it's no big deal.
Indeed. You were a salesmonkey, though; you got it handed on a plate.
I'm just a lowly warehouse operative, with fairly high moral standards
[1] and limited opportunities for non-purchasory acquisition.

[1] I do not steal from my employer. A minor point, but an important
    one.

The type Champ had when he was racing in the wet.

Looked as if he'd just fallen off the cover of a 1977 Bike magazine.
    Great stuff.
