Anyone got any contacts in the shipping world? Looking to ship a bike from
Greece to Israel, utterly clueless as to where to start.

wouldn't it be easier to fly to israel and take it over to greece on a
    ferry (via Cyprus, I imagine)?

Stick it on a plane, see James Cargo http://www.jamescargo.co.uk/

Shipping a bike is unreliable unless you are not bothered about you and
the bike being there at the same time.

    Wah.

'The "European Broadcasting Area" is bounded on the west by the western
boundary of Region 1, on the east by the meridian 40° East of Greenwich
and on the south by the parallel 30° North so as to include the western
part of the USSR, the northern part of Saudi Arabia and that part of
those countries bordering the Mediterranean within these limits. In
addition, Iraq, Jordan and that part of the territory of Turkey lying
outside the above limits are included in the European Broadcasting
    Area.'

A quick search on google.gr for "greece-israel transport" didnt' reveal
much, but here's a couple of sites that Google ads presented.

    http://www.grsamson.gr/main.php?index (English)
    http://www.beinoglou.gr/index.htm (English)
http://www.astrametaforiki.gr/diethneis.htm (in Greek, so try google
    translate)

I didn't check the sites' contents, I just picked the three more likely to
be able to solve your problem judging from the pics/general description.

Furthermore, you can try asking a question on www.moto.gr, the largest Greek
motorcycle forum I'm aware of. Everyone speaks a bit of English and there's
a lot of helpful people in there. Not sure if you need to register first.

  10. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, TD
Crate it up, stencil it with the phrase for "Motorcycle Handle with
Care", which is "Agi ftfro m Hezb ull ah".

Then arrange to have it delivered by a small fishing boat, preferably at
night to avoid damage from the heat of the day.

    Simples!
