You mean the £500 a year I pay already isn't enough?

Ok, I'll bite. The only pushbike rider[1] you're likely to find who
doesn't have 3rd party insurance, is one who doesn't have house
contents insurance. Not many, I'd hazard.

Can we fine horse riders for fouling the road as well, they do it for
dog dirt on the pavements ...

Heh. There's an arrogant little bitch trots around my local area who
delights (amongst other tricks) in taking her time passing parked cars
and so on whilst a queue builds up in the other direction. She's got the
full array of hand signals, too.

She's a very vulnerable road user and she is going to come *so* unstuck
one day. Trouble is, some poor sod who's been pushed too far will
probably be looking at a "death by dangerous".

Couple of years back in my previous address I'd pulled to one side to
let a couple of horse pass from the opposite direction. When I went to
move off after they were 90% past me because the lane behind me was
very narrow her dog ran in front of the car I braked and didn't hit
the cur, but then the stupid bitch started hitting the car with her
    whip.

If there's not been a child on the other horse I'd have probably hit
the horn to see if I could panic the horse. As it was she got treated
to a full on swearbot tirade at full volume on my feelings on horse
riders in general and her in particular.
No reasonable jury would convict surely?

The one thing that really disappoints me about the LC4 is that it
won't do them. I suspect it's 'cos of the cat[1].

Hmm, don't know where my reponses have been hyperspaced to, but here
it is again, he's incorrect in his asssumption that a turn into a left
hand side road is the same as a left turn off a roundabout as it's
    not.

If i'm turning into a LH side road, then I do move over, to stop
cyclists undertaking me, if a car chooses to go past/move alongside
me at that point, so be it, as i'm not staying on that road anyway.

At a roundabout, i'm in the middle of my lane, as I specifically don't
want a car trying to move alongside me (in the same lane).

And pedestrians. A yearly shoe tax should be levied on all footwear apart
from slippers and riding boots. And Lycra, THAT should be taxed (or even
    tacked) to the bollocks too.

That must've been some fucking cavalcade. Still better than a herd of Morris

There are one make clubs I would never join. Probably anything 'main
    stream'.

TBF, since the advent of the interwebby there is no longer really any
need. In fact, the Gilera Network[1]were one of the first clubs to have
    a presence on the internet.

I remain a member of the Morini Riders Club out of habit as much as
anything, and for the discount on their Cadwell track day entry.

Note neither of these have 'owners' in the title, and never organised
cavalcades (on a public road at least).

When I was flying the RC heli's regularly, we used a field that horse
crossed which was a field they shouldn't have been crossing. The majority
of the riders were absolute cunts and pig ignorant too, but we *used* to
land when we saw a horse approaching out of a sense of "gentleman-ness", but
after the umpteenth time of them passing without a "Thanks", a "Kiss my
arse" or any ackowledgement of any kind we stopped landing and carried on
flying. Horsed fucking hate two smoke heli's.

We also had one of the riders come running up to us one day screaming that
her friend had been thrown by a horse in the next field and her horse fucked
off. Suddenly she didn't ignore us, but she learned a valuable lesson that
    day.

Get yourself out on a bike with carbs and ksb the bitch. Watching the
horse throw her into the weeds and **** off up the road will be well
    worth the effort.

Circumstances vary. For example the LE Velo Club is the sole source of
spares for the Velocette flat twin range so there is little chance of
keeping one of the beasties on the road without being a member.
Several other SOBs have similar clubs with decent spares schemes.

OTOH when it comes to modern bikes the clubs seem to be a load of wank.

  17. I thoroughly agree. LE owners are usually members.

A weak argument in the general case yes, but for some SOB owners the
club membership is almost an essential. Some SOB clubs are better than
others, but spares are the main issue.
I agree, however, that club rideouts are often silly and mismanaged.
Any club that organises mobile roadblocks is bad news.

well, the Fi before the cat. Hitting the KS will shut off the fuel pump so
no splodge of fuel to reignite once you restart the engine.
