well, if you don't have 2 grand that you could throw at the bike in a
pinch, you really shouldn't have been considering a ducati.

Oh damn, you mean she won't speak to me for a month? How will I ever
    manage?

    I guess I'll try to develop a thick skin ... ;)

Sucking his keyboard for inspiration, dog typed:
****, you may be right there. Never stopped me before, of course.

**** me, no. That's the two-tone beige one for the US market, and yes, it's
awful. Cardigan and slippers compulsory. The Brit imports are a proper
Ducati red, and a subtle metallic grey, with no contrasting panels, which
makes a hell of a difference visually. Have a look at
    http://www.takumiproject.com/Sport_Classic/gt1000_01.jpg. Anyways, it's
matter of taste, shirley? I lusted after the 860GT when it first came out
(Bike magazine: It Pulls Like A Train), so to me it is quite pretty. The
only drawback I can see is the whisper-quiet silencers, but that's not
insurmountable. Bluntly, you're supposed to be finding me reasons to do it,
    not to put me off.

And I don't (mind, that is). It's getting closer. Wife still on speaking
terms, even after subject tentatively broached.

    "Rich, where have you been?"
    "Dealership."
"What have you been up to?"
"Well, he insisted I take a test ride ..."

"a good woman will always forgive but she'll never forget"

Heard that on R4 yesterday in response to Carlos Santana's wife leaving
him after 32 years because of a dalliance he had eons ago.

After 4 years of the above mine finally relented and had a go.

Has a job interview today and put motorcycling as one of her hobbies.

    WTF?
