Sig change and a short story

  1. Well now that it's all done and dusted I thought I'd share the news.

At the beginning of May I was making progress down a wide and open
country road on the GS at around 40-50mph. Mate of mine was following
behind on his Pan. Next thing I know I'm in an ambulance proceeding
at high speed to Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm. Turns out that
some tart that I'd seen parked at the roadside decided to pull out 10
metres in front of me. According to my mate I slammed into the left
front wing and did a Superman impression over the bonnet and slide
down the road on my chest. Fortunately there was no oncoming traffic
otherwise I wouldn't be sitting here writing this.

Anyway after a night in hospital I'm realised with nothing more than
bad bruises and a cracked thumb. Thank god for decent kit. I can
highly recommend crashing in kit made by Arai, Rukka and Daytona!

After a short investigation it is accepted that tart is at fault and I
won't be paying a penny. After 6 weeks ins co. scraps the bike and
gives me what I paid for it last year and 12k miles ago. Result! I
also get full compensation for all my kit.

At this point I start playing Captain Sensible and decide not to get a
new bike straight away but to put the money towards a house deposit.
Having decided to do that my partners godfather dies leaving
everything to her including an almost new, just run-in ST1300A Pan.
    Another result!

I'm off to pick it up next Saturday. :)

  3. Well thankfully (I think) the Swedes have thus far managed to keep a
lid on the ambulance chasing no win no fee brigade. There are very
strict guidelines regarding what compensation can be received etc.
etc. I do still have some shoulder discomfort and am being assessed
next week by an orthopedics expert. They will then make a formal
assessment to the ins co. who in turn will pay the recommended amount
    if appropriate.

Actually driving a sh*te old polo.

Ace. Fortunately my lack of experience of these vehicles shines through, so
I am happy to bow to your superior knowledge.
Though in my opinion you would be better off snipping the a/ Brake cables b/
    Battery Cables c/Electrics.
Sorry, thats a bit generalised and unfair. There are some slightly more
*cool* volvos now arent there, some there must be some more
reasonable volvo owners in the populous now.

Er it's really quite a sorry chain of events ending up with one of God's
    ugliest creations.

That's really no way to speak about Andy's partner. As far as we know
she could be perfectly presentable[1]. Shame on you, Hog.

  8. I'm sorry but you've clearly misunderstood the chain of events. It
was the GS that was destroyed and I'm collecting a nearly new Pan.
You seem to have got it the other way round...?

    ;-)
