I was high bidder, as you see, and I didn't expect to get it for that
price. But I've clinched the deal at £800. That doesn't seem like a
lot of money for a damn good do-everything trail bike with such low
    miles.

If I play my cards right, I ought to be able to sell the SL125 for
    more than £800, as well.

    Very tidy indeed. Bargain methinks.

In the condition of yours, I'd say that's a cert.

I've always liked the Yam XT bikes and may one day buy an old one.

You do realise that you've now got the ideal bike for a certain ukrm
trip scheduled to take place early next year?

He'll have to fit the spare tyres I reckon.

He's got a whole pile of excuses better than having to change the
    tyres.

    XT500, by any chance?
You're following my early bike progression; almost exactly 30 years
    ago I part-ex'd my SL125 for an XT500. Can't remember how much I got
for the SL, but I'd paid £150 for it nine months earlier. The XT was
just six months old and cost me £600, IIRC.

I take it this means you don't want the KZ 750 then? :p

  8. Where did you get the 'D' from after the initial 3?

  9. Um, not necessarily. And all of a sudden there's dead silence from the
seller of the XT after I've outlined my plans for collection.

    hit 'Bid'....

Should I post some pics of sidecar on an XT that I recently saw?

Your mickey-mouse newsreader, I guess. The 3d is substituted for some
special character or other. Removing it shows the listing...

which is a XT600E, by all accounts a much better bike than the 500,
but somehow lacking the character, particularly in that pig-awful
colour scheme. Mine was the 1977 model, in white with red/black
detailing on tank and the 'Enduro 500' side panels. Happy days. Maybe
I'll have to get myself another one one of these years...

    Better not.

An Elefantentreffen TOG Guide of 300 pages with all sorts of clear
indications would make a different Elefantentreffen experience.

No, the gold wheels were only added in 1980, and then again later on
    the first 600 models.
