For the princely sum of 1700ukp.

(Had to conclude off ebay as I never found his reserve)

As per usual, all price guide info thanks to TOG.

And thanks to Eddie for dropping me off to collect it and looking after it for a
    few days.

Nice one, and a bargain price too. Let me know if you need any parts
as I've got loads of road stuff off the racebike. I'm quite good at
    pulling them apart as well!

The major stuff would be nuts and bolts etc where the ends have
    "weathered"

Seems a fair price judging the market at the moment. I know they are
outdated and only go 53 feet on average, but not only do they look nice,
    they ride nice as well.

    And Jean likes it :)

You and Eddie are *really* keen to get Jean on a trackday.

Indeed. She'll show up a few of the posers and we (or at least I) will
    enjoy riding just behind her.

  10. Yes. Especially the bolts under the sump - the ones that hold the two
fairing halves together. Replace them with plastic number plate bolts.

  11. A 900SS is just going to be tragic. Sod the extra power - they *all* go
wrong. The 750cc lump is the one to have.

And the smart buyer would scour Ebay for 900SS adjustable forks, alloy
swinging arm and rear shock, and simply uprate it that way.

When I bought the Gixer the bellypan bolts were steel. I replaced them
with the original type plastic clips.

    Ewww, a soap bar Ducati...

To be honest I very much prefer the older slab-side one, I just think
the newer ones look rather uglier than their predecessors.

I nearly bought a basket case 900SS instead of the basket case Guzzi.
I'm not sure if I regret not getting it.

I am pretty certain that it's not the type you're on about.

  19. I think all Dukes have soft wheels, to be honest. Expensive aftermarket
    ones must exist.

They do, they tend to be made out of CF and people like you and me buy
a trailer's worth of bikes for the same kind of money...
