Well, have bitten the bullet and bought one.
A late one with the ohlins stuff and the ally swing arm.

    Picking it up Saturday

Nice, I do like those. I came close to buying a 900 SS Final Edition in
silver when they came out. I bought a Firestorm instead cos it was
faster on paper. How I wish I'd bought the Ducati.

  4. Nice. The older models look better, though ;-)

Heh, I have been studying prices for a while, and really looking for
something with no niggles or issues.

Was supposed to see a grey one on Friday but got gazumped.
Went to lok at a black one on saturday, but decided the black finish
looks a bit shabby, and really wanted a red one. Also, it was imported
from France, and the 7.5k miles advertised were actually 12.5K. FSH
from some French mob, then Aylesbury Ducati though.

This red one came up and seemed to tick all the boxes so I went for a
look see tonight and it is not in bad nick at all, with a pretty much
complete service history from dealer, then independent specialist. The
seller is a Ducati nut, so has pampered it a bit too, so I am pretty
    pleased.

  6. You should have done, yes.

I had a nice die-cast model of the FE (in silver) and the bastards who
burgled us nicked it with all my other model bikes (some 50 in all).

There was a silver FE on ebay recently, looked pretty nice TBH.

  8. They do. All those FF single-square-headlight Dukes do. That means the
    600SS, 750SS, 900SS, 851 and 888. I just think that styling is *so*
classic. The 'melted' styling of the injected models was bloody awful.
    IMHO, of course.

    Good choice.

I'll have to get over for a FOT and compare them at some point.
