sig change

  1. I know I haven't got one but if I had, it would have changed.

After being persuaded that close on £1k of work would be required to get
the old Divvy through its MOT this time and I would be better off
putting the money towards a new bike I walked out with a new to me XJ6S.
The old one's done me 8 years so mustn't grumble I suppose.

10 months old with 3000 miles for £4.2k to you Sir. (I await being told
I've been ripped off now) And a very fetching shade of dark blue.

These modern bikes are rather nice aren't they?

Still can't get used to the lack of an exhaust though; it just seems
    wrong somehow.

Hmmm - 600cc, 216kg, 31 inch seat hight, sounds like a heavy monster
    to me.

If only - try retired shortarse bloke with an iffy back and 29" inside leg.
Anyway, the Divvy is bigger and heavier than a 600 should be.

That's the first time I've heard anyone say a Divvy is 'big and heavy'.

Something like a Bandit 600 then, or any number of other middleweight bikes?

New one is £5805 list, so does not seem too bad. Although, I would've got a
new one on £99 deposit with 0%APR over 3 years.

looks different, but sort of neat, especially compared to the exhausts on
    your old one

  10. It's a damn sight lighter than the XJ600S I used to charge about on.

  11. I did consider that but there were two factors - I really begrudge the
hit you take wheeling a new bike out of the dealers, and I needed
something to get to work on Tuesday and I could ride this away in an
hour. As it was purchased from those nice people at Woodford
Motorcycles (recommended 8 years ago by Mr Corfield) I was happy to
    support them too.
Ah, I was down to the one by the time it went (a pattern one was a
bloody sight cheaper than a genuine Yamaha - £1000 FFS!)
