Not even remotely pink this time - I was very careful to check.

    It's probably a chick thing.

1000cc is far too big for *me* to ride!

    Several possible answers to that.

    1. Since when did I need a reason to buy a new toy?
    2. Because it's Italian.
    3. Because it's made by MV.
    4. Because it's been 23 years since I last owned an Italian V-twin, &
    that's far too long.
    5. Because everybody should own something fitted with a TL1000 engine
at some point in their life.
    6. Because I always fancied a Bimota, & it is in all but name.

But I suppose the real reason is I no longer need a bike suitable for
2-up touring, so can replace the 955 with something a lot more
exciting, & much smaller & lighter, but still practical enough for the
Brum run, visiting clients, popping into town etc.

Riding the ex's 650 Raptor & L's SV made me lust for another V-twin,
but a much more mental one than either of those, & I don't think
anything fits the bill better, especially at that price. 1600 quid for
a pretty immaculate MV with an almost legendary bombproof Jap engine?
    Feels like theft to me!

I believe the archives will show I was thinking of getting one long
before the current chick came along. But she will be able to ride it,
unlike the Tiger. Which is fair enough as I'll get to play on her FZR,
& Street Triple when she gets it next year.

No, but I don't like the naked Aprilias, & don't have faith in Ducati
reliability. If I just wanted a summer toy I may have gone for a
Monster, but would've stayed awake at night wondering if it would start
in the morning (& if the MV was beating the crap out of it).

    7. Because it won't show up on Swiss/German records.

Heh. It certainly won't show up on German roads, at least not with me
    on it.

There was a #7 which I forgot though - new garage = vacuum. That's now
been taken care of by the FZR, which arrives tomorrow & will live here,
& the Raptor. WUN was right - I need a bigger garage already :-(
