I bought it (like most bikes I've bought) as a keeper but having spent
eleven full months in the garage without turning a wheel, it seemed a
    complete waste.

Still, it means there's a bike-shaped gap to fill, and I think I've just
    found the candidate...

No. I have plans for it. Big plans. Involving "engineering". And cash.

Taking a steering stem from one bottom yoke, and pressing it into
another - how hard can it be?

How big a hammer will I need?

And a jolly fine job it was too. I must come and see you about the
    top yoke now.....
