Sig change

Even though I don't really have a sig these days.

I've just come into possession of the ex-Sorby VFR750.

And yes, it's just as tatty as you'd expect from a 140k mile bike.

But it has an MOT and it goes well.

I'm giving it a bloody good tidy up over the next few months - started
today, with stripping and cleaning as much as I could.

I've stuck it on a blog so I have a motivation to keep track of what I'm
doing.

That bike is mounting a challenge for the title of 'UKRM Whore'.

Good to see it still looks in good shape (all things considered).

 

It's got a long way to go before it usurps the throne from my old GT750

Ah, yes, but how many people actually *owned* it? Which is what we're
talking about here....

 

Sorby, JackH, my brother (kind of qualifies as he once did a French run
on it), and me.

I believe that, other than the supplying dealer, there have been no
other owners.

 

Bad form - but I've exhanged some emails with Sorby, this is what he
says:

'Well, say hello to anyone on UKRM who cares or remembers - I do miss
y'all.'

He appears to be live and well making music - and has done some stuff
with Miles from the Wonderstuff!

 

I know you're old, but most people don't own whores these days ...

 

It's an old tradition I'm thinking of reviving.

Oh, that reminds me. Guess who forgot our wedding anniversary today?

 

Ooops.

Never good.

I forgot K's birthday a couple of years back, after I had a few too many
to drink on a business trip whilst watching the European Cup Semi
Finals.

What made it worse was, when K called me, I got a bit carried away about
United reaching the final, before being reminded that it was her
birthday.

 

Forgot? I never even knew it was your anniversary in the first place.

 

I did that last week young'un

and being in a little town 10 miles from Spa, I couldn't just nip to the
shop on the corner and blag it

I forgot my best friend's 10th wedding anniversary; I was his best man
and as such he thought I should remember it and got quite iffy. My
parents never bothered much with wedding anniversaries much, so they
aren't very important to me and I think it's more of a personal thing
between a couple than something that should be remembered by others.
What say the FOAK?

 

I am with Champ, I was best man for a good friend and TBH I can't even
recall which month it was.

 

Too bad. We both forgot ours yesterday.

 

Heh, same as my 40th - except to my ex. How's that for a memory.
