Various NG worthies have been working out their (late) mid life crisis
on MX and Enduro bikes, but I got them out of my system before I was 30.
Some things remain to be tried however, so today I bought a Gas Gas
trials bike. After all, how many bones can one break at 5mph.....

Tonight I shall be dreaming of bunny hops across ravines, downhill
stoppies and rear wheel pauses on railings. Possibly riding up the
occasional tree. No doubt the reality will be muddy and more "interesting".

It's a TXT125 so I can share it with my son, for now. Hopefully that
will be enough to haul me around the easy stuff. There is 7kg less
weight penalty than last November anyway. I've already tried the full
size TXT80 he has been riding and that was loads of fun.

Anyone on the NG into Trials in a regular way?

Not for 35 years and then mostly with a sidecar outfit. Though I did do
quite a few classic trials on a Tiger Cub. The lad is quite interested
in having a go and I must look in to what local clubs are doing. Given
his BMX, MTB and unicycle riding he might be half decent at it. That
would mean finding space for yet another bike though.
