On the back, on the Falco, definitely. But I thought the front end was
something vaguely decent, same as the RSV.
So... is that good or bad?

Not that it makes much odds to me, you understand - I just get on and
ride the thing as best I can, without worrying too much about whether
any particular component is state-of-the-art or not.

    Bear says...
You might be right. Showa are mainly involved with Honda, as are Nissin.
Both these companies also supply OE parts to other manufacturers, but
they sometimes don't work as well as they do on Hondas. Nissin supplied
Triumph with brake calipers and instrument gauges IIRC.

Fit something like an Ohlins to your 9R and even the numptiest of riders
will feel the difference, it really is that noticeable.

Well, obviously. If yer wants a sports bike, yer buys a fookin'
sports bike. Bandit front ends being what they are, just about
anything will be an improvement - although I've never really felt the
shortcomings of the standard forks, tbh. Seem to track alright and
    stop alright to me.

Having said that, a bit of adjustment would be nice.
Cheap motorcycling for a gentleman for whom comfort and miles per grin
are important. Efficient. Not fuel-efficient, mind. Any **** wot
buys a bike only capable of 30mpg on a good day, with petrol going
over a quid a litre, is a fuckwit of the first order, imo.

It not really a case of anything ther than "because you can" and
"because it looks nice" although it does feel good too.
Hmm 45mpg+ at an 80mph m-way cruise and some general running about.
    Can't complain.

I just love the look of an underseat exhaust and mono-arm. The tail
unit does have to go I agree. Something nice will present itself
eventually I'm sure. Has to retain the proper pillion seat though.

500 miles later it's not *quite* as shiny :0)

Must clean it again this week before the novelty wears off.
Who knows. This one is still feeling plenty fast enough for me for now.

    Nice.

I am looking for an absolutely unmolested early Bandit 12. I'd keep
looking exactly stock, and just have engine work, race exhaust, better
    forks and shock, and brakes.

So not looking remotely stock, I see.

    Costs are not silly:

Well, I mean no fancy headlights, or seat units or swingarms (I might
throw on some Renthals, but that's all). With all due respect to
yours, most "styling" customisations are pretty naff. And I speak as
someone who bought a really tasty B12.

I want all the best bits of the B12, but to have the budget bits
(suspension) improved, and more power and the brakes to go with it.
No ideed. I spent quite some time thinking about spending money at
Holeshot, when I had that bandit.
