£1400 with a free MOT etc when its fue in July. I is rather pleased.

Thanks TOG, no vibration on overrun, both drain plugs unmolested(turns out
to have been owned by the bike shops mechanic and his mate for most of the
last decade.). Ran liek a dream on the 15 mile test ride I took it.

Only thing was I stopped to show SWMBO and could I restart the bugger,
could I eck. That was until I realised the key turned both ways and I'd
been trying to start it in the park position. yes I know, fuckwit. I'd
gone through all teh usual, kill switch, ignition, is there a side stand
switch etc nope, just teh usual ID Ten T error.

Ah well, pick it up tomorrow.... Its bound to snow for teh next fortnight.

    Paging Sweller and the Guzzi-isti
*If* one was to be interested in a Cali, what would be the right year to
    go for?

I'm thinking earlier years, post the slush box but with nice and simple
carbs rather than DME and injection, but I will be advised.

What does it take to run these motors back up to Le-Mans spec output
    from the standard 75ish

    Late70's/early 80s.
    Good choice.
Heads, pistons(sometimes), carbs, cam, flywheel, 'silencers'.

Much cheaper to buy a Lemans2 and fit Cali running gear as it all bolts
straight on and is pretty cheap.
I did the same with my Spada.

Arse! I meant I did it the hard way with my Spada. Upped the spec to Lemans
on the engine side of things, but slightly more power as I started with an
iron barrel 1000 Spada engine instead of the 850..

I'd of though the old smelly one would have liked them myself, after all
its low enough for even a short arse like him to get his leg over.

I buy bikes I feel comfortable on and that I enjoy riding. I don't have a
Harley because the ones I can afford are a) gay, b)shite. The ones I'd like
are ££££££ and not really Harleys at all (more like a collection of S&S,
    Manley, Oberhartz....).

It's the colour that's gay. If it was redone in a nice glossy black
(including frame), it would have no trouble "passing". Losing the
    apehangers would help, of course.
