Yep. That's one way to put it.
    Good man.
    It'd make sense.

Well, given the way I behaved last time you lent me a bike (GSXR1000, I
think you took it off me after I took a roundabout on the wrong side...)
I thought it would be rude not to ride it like a ****.

After all, I did say "I won't ride it like a ****" and you said "I think
    you should".
Hmm... that's as maybe but I'd still need something that can carry a
laptop, my gym kit and a suit. I doubt that's a 10r. Sadly.

I told my daughter it was her fault I couldn't have one and if only
she'd go somewhere else for her sixth form I'd be happy. She smiled,
    sweetly, and said "Sorry Dad"...

I cut out some panels from matching fabric to make arm-rest covers for
my sofas at the weekend. They've been delivered to someone else for
    the actual sewing-machine work, mind.

given how much hair gel, styling wax and other assorted hair-gunk
products the kids put in their hair, we could do with some.

Although, from my point of view, 5 minutes each with the Wahl on
"level zero" would sort the problem out in a more acceptable way.

I'd sew my own. I'm bloody good on a sewing machine, if I may say so.

I meant insofar as how-or-not taxed-and-tested is it?

the soon-to-be-17 step-sprog is making "can I have a bike" noises.

Yeah, but in fairness, darsy doesn't actually *like* the kid.

it's dependant on a few factors; I'm prepared to go along with the
current whim, knowing that he'll probably change his mind before his
    birthday.

It's partly driven by the fact there's no way I'm paying for him to be
insured for the Jeep, and we've nowhere to put an additional car.

That said, I suspect he wouldn't be able to afford the insurance on a
bike (and I'm sure as **** not paying it).

quite possible a bit beyond my very limited mechanical abilities. I'll
certainly bear it in mind should #1 step-son manage to save up enough
dosh/decide finally that he really wants a bike.
    received, ta.
