my first thought as I attempted to stop it half a mile after setting
    off was...

"Oh my god, what have I bought...?"

80 miles or so later and I'm fairly happy.

I had forgotten just how bad 23 year old brakes are, how heavy SOBs
are around town, remembering to rev the engine slightly as it doesn't
quite tick over. trying to work out how to cancel the indicators
without putting the opposite one on, trying to adjust the mirrors so I
could see cos I had to lean so far forward to adjust them I had to
guess where behind was, the weave as old tyres move over white lines.

It was a joy on the motorway, turbo kicking in when needed and
although I took it easy it wasn't hard to shuffle round the bends and
the odd bit of traffic closer to home.

Its now home and sat on the drive. I managed to get it onto the centre
stand. whether I'll ever get it off it again is another matter.

I finished on site early due to a snag and looked at getting over. Just not
practical, would have needed to get to Liverpool docks by 18:15 as the last
    flight was away.

    bloody hell, they won too
Fozzy is on that ferry so a lift at the other end wouldn't be an
    issue.
