My T595 was that gold/yellow colour. Like the ST it was the only one I could
get at the time. This one will be in black/red Senna colours by the time it
    goes public!

Those comical krauts convinced the folk in Swansea that my bike is orange
as that's what the V5C says.

Now, whilst I may have dubious standards, there's no way I'm going to ride
a ginge. I'll leave that to the likes of BGN...

I'd happily have a yellow R1 SP in the speedblock they did as a
    special edition.

  9. One of the Dutch guys[1] I used to go touring with had some garish yellow
Ducati-based thing. I *think* it was a Bimota Mantra..

And looking at pictures on t'web I see it was so. *Lovely* exhaust
note, engine sounded like a bag of spanners when cold and the build
quality was shocking. I seem to recall him replacing vast swathes of
the electrics to cope with the Dutch weather. And as for the plastics -
the gaps between panels was somewhat variable and (in one part) there
were sharp edges protruding which were sharp enough to cut you if you
ran your hand over the bodywork..

[1] Definate bike nut - sort of an inverse Timo - he'd buy crap bikes
and make them work. Last I heard he had a mint CBX1000 in his garage[2]
as well as the Bimota and some other stuff. When I first met him he had
a VF750 and we used to count the number of bits he lost while touring.
Incuding having his centre-stand spring break at about 90 mph - causing
the centre-stand to drop and start spraying sparks up off the road..
[2] Immaculate. Floor painted in bays, bike hydraulic lift, all the
tools neatly racked and with proper heating..

my T595 was yellow too. I think it looked better in the yellow than
    the black.

the black was ruined by red bits.

<looks at R1> very similar red bits.
