One thing, why is the GTR over £2k more than the ZZR?
With a not "leany-forwardy" riding position.

    Of course, things may change.
Could be: it's got a very slightly weepy fork seal.

The expensive bit will be the alternator upgrade, and a proper
    service.

Anyway, I misled you, the two aren't inextricably linked.

    It's more a timing thing.
I'm not sure I wanna get a new bike just in time for the winter.
    Exactly - never ending expense.

.... and in return, pick one of the three, depending on the mood you
    (and/or Pat) are in:

Probably similar to the not-really-as-gay-as-it-sounds Pearl Purplish
Black Mica on the 9R, I'd guess.

    Oh, and banana's what?

There should be a ukrm sweepstake for which one you choose:

Will it be the slightly-lardy, but competent, comfortable for pillions,
    not-quite-sportsbike?

Perhaps the power and precise handling of the S4R, requiring much more
    commitment of the passenger?

Or... the comedy rank outsider: big, debatable looks, handles far better
than you'd expect for a step-ladder on wheels; the pillion may need to
    bring their own mounting stool...

Ranked in reverse order I suspect.

Stereotypes aside, I really don't understand this need to blow 5 figure
sums on a party for people who, quite often, you don't know very well
and wouldn't particularly want to spend a lot of time with.
Though, if you must do it, this makes good sense.

I struggle to imagine how people spend so much - When I got
(re-)married in 1995 we pretty much went the whole hog - good
restaurant, no skimping on the menu and wines, open bar, etc. etc. and
we still only managed to spend around 3.5 grand on it. Sure, the dress
was a 'bargain' at only 300 quid and we didn't need to pay much for
cars, as we used my mate in his immaculate Mk2 Jag for petrol (+MOT)
money rather than hiring a roller or whatever, but those things could
really only make another few hundred quid at most, I'd have thought.

Perhaps Dan would enlighten us to their budget plans?

Which became a very not slightly, but profoundly, weepy fork seal.

Wot is being done at the moment.

    Bum.

    :p',',',',',

I'm still amazed that the front brake ever passes - it is truly
    dreadful.

I suppose I ought to fit those braided hoses.

The Z200 has recently passed its MOT, and its front brake crapness is
    legendary.

Actually to be fair, probably not the GSX-R :)

Anyway, the actual reception is costing around the figure Ace
    mentioned.
The other high costs are our rings[1] and the honeymoon, plus lots of
    little things.

In this case, a very posh frock, however it should be a 'once' type
    trip.

[1] My gran died last year - she left me some money. Wedding rings
seemed a good use for this money.

We'll have to have a brake-off in Chimay, then.
