    :)

It's (obviously) dramatically less powerful than the ZX but pleasant enough
    (and certainly better brakes!)

I won't go as far as calling you a ****, then.

Of course, there is only one proper colour for a gentleman's helmet.

Fookin' nice, but not that nice to ride on the road. I had a go on one & it
felt lumpy & if you want loud, take the can off the gixxer thousand & crack
    it up, now thats loud.

The BMW looks ace, but you'll get bored very quickly

It felt like a R1200R on a bit of speed, not the ecstacy & crack *I*
    expected.

    But, very, very pretty

At the moment though I have the KGT for warp speed stuff :) The R11S will do
just nicely for small A and B road blitzing. The R80RS is pleasant in a
"classic" bimbling around way. The only slight change I fancy now is perhaps
changing the F650 for a more focused off roader, maybe a DRZ400 or summat

I still love the K, it's faster than a bolt of lightening, but... i could do
    with a gt bike.

Get a test ride at a BM dealers on a KGT, they're a very impressive piece of
    kit

I looked, and quickly looked away. Whatever were BMW thinking of?

So they built a 'sports' bike, and then realised the only way they
could give it any credibility was to take it racing, but it would have
had its arse kicked soundly wherever they tried to race it against
anything of similar capacity or power. So in desperation they hyped up
a one make race series and all the gullible BMW lovers snapped them up.

The power of marketing and hype is truly amazing.

I have to resist, or it would be my 16th bike in 24 months.

But, I can see the draw....

They have a 'pucker' sports bike on the way, they told me in 2007. £500
    down, yeah right.

hmmm, Alan Jeffries it might be soon.

By proper I mean one who isn't bothered by trivial things like a louder
than standard exhaust. My MOT man is very strict on anything related to
safety, but he applies common sense where things like number plate size
and exhausts are concerned. If it's stupid loud it won't pass, and if
the number plate can't be read easily that's a fail too.

Out of courtesy I take original exhaust silencers with me or fit a
baffle and fit a proper size plate if I have one, but he always tells
me I don't have to bother. Last time I took a bike to him was last
week, my ex's 2004 SV650. I cable tied a reflector to the indicator
stalk and put my removeable baffle in her silencer, he laughed but
couldn't fail it. As soon as he'd presented her with the ticket I cut
the cable ties and put the reflector in my pocket and refitted the
baffle in my own exhaust to get it home, he didn't bat an eyelid.
