    Can't you afford insurance then?

There's no guarantee that an InsCo wouldn't try to weedle its way out
of paying up if the bike hadn't been locked up to the gills.

Not to mention the excess & increased premiums if they do cough up, but
I think Simes was just casting.

What bollocks. Is there a specific clause saying you must use external
locks written into the policy? No? Well they can't 'wriggle out' of a
    claim then.

    Simples.

    That's it, we're all fucked.

I saw the ad for the first time earlier this week, but until then, I
    didn't know it's origin either.

    I knew it wasn't a type though.

Yes. But I imagine re-insurance on a new GSXR1000 not particularly
    cheap after a theft claim.

I park my bike outside, without a lock. If someone wants to nick it,
they're going to nick it. A dicklock isn't going to prevent a couple
of scallies picking the bike up and shoving it into the back of a
tranny, and then cutting off the lock later.

  16. Oh yeah, I get that, but I would think the risk is very small.
Interestingly, for the PRINCE2 monkeys, mitigating the risk of theft
increases the risk of one damaging own bike. How do you put that in
    the risk log, then?

  19. It's interesting for the PRINCE2 monkeys. For this purpose, I'm going
to lump myself in with the PMI motherfuckers, and ignore it.
