Thanks for the useful advice from those wot gave it.

I have now booked myself an 'interview' on Monday to sort out the fact that
they won't pay me a penny in dole, but c'est la vie, eh?

Of course this did take most of this morning. Phoning the local office I
got an incomprehensible load of bollocks said at 3billion wpm before I could
tell the bint I wanted to make a new claim. The response of "Well we can't
help you, you need to phone 0845 blah blah blah" was delightful as was her
putting the phone down as soon as she said the last number.

The Derby 'Jobcentre Plus' bird was much nicer, however, and gave a few
pointers on which boxes to tick on the forms etc and what I should try to
claim for even though I'll probably not get anything.

And she was quite understanding when I told her the new job starts in
September so I'd really not be interested in anything less that £35k and
even then I'd be highly unlikely to consider it....

Oh well on with the spending of redundancy money on getting the R6, 955i,
Mon**o and MX5 ship shape during the day[1] and much drinking and PS2ing of
    the evening... :)

[1] How come they *all* manage to have something wrong with them at the same
    time, eh?[2]
[2] I won't even mention the FZR which basically needs more work doing than
will ever be economical for a mechanical numpty such as I..
