Silver Blackbird?

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by Jason Burton-Woods, Jun 26, 2004.

  1. Hi again, back after a 5 yr break from bikes...

Looking at buying another Blackbird, but this time I'm after a Silver
one... could anyone point out what year models (if any) in Oz came out
Silver? I've found a couple of examples (AMCT pg 190) and on bikepoint,
but I cant get in contact with those sellers...

Any ideas on which years did come out with the silver option? Or even
better... if anyone is selling theirs?

    Thanks all
    Jason

    5 years?

You lost some finger off your hand or has it really been that long?

Buy a real bike this time!

I think the colour you refer to (Titanium?) was only available on 98-99 carby
model Blackbirds. I think you'd be probably looking around the $6-8,000 range
    for one of these.

  5. Thanks Nev, but Silver is what I mean... true Silver... found a few
references on Hondas euro and US pages about silver (not titanium - which is
way more grey than the photos I looked at), but nothing much here cept
those 2 examples I wrote about earlier.

Judging from the Hondas site I guess its original paint... thats why I'm
asking though in case someones come across one or heard of Aus getting
    Silver ones previously..

    wow. time really does fly!

I know a bloke who will paint it any colour you like, but he does a real
    nice silver.

I think the one you're thinking of might have been the colour they sent to the
USA in 2002. Looked white in the pics I saw but it must have been silver. I
found a pic of one here.

I reckon that is possibly the worst colour I've seen. They were never
imported into Australia in that colour. You could have bought my black 2002
model and resprayed it in the colour of your choice, but too late, it's long
    gone now.

Yeah, no silver ones were sent to Australia. I thought the silver looked
awsome too but since it was a "black"bird. I thought black looked just as
awesome. Funny how my 2002 has standard silver wheels but the Silver one in
Nevs pic doesn't. I went and saw the new matt gray metallic finish BB with
gold wheels in Honda World recently and was not too impressed. Just looked
to gaudy for my liking. Black represents dark, mean and/or mysterious. These
are the kind of things I represent.

If it was available in silver, they wouldn't call it a blackbird.

  12. Dont laugh, after I bought my Black Blackbird in 99 I was convinced by the
Red Baron dealer that the 2000 model wasnt coming out in Black !!! I
checked the honda site and sure enough, 2000 didnt have black.... they
MUST have changed it later but at the time I was mightly suprised there was
going to be no Black Blackbird!!!

Thanks all for the info, looks like I'll need to find a spray shop for this
    one... :)

Please don't swear coney. My ears are very delicate at the moment. It's also
very unbecoming for aus.moto to use such language to attract decent
newcomers to our little community down here :)
