Situation

  1. I have a few matters I need to get off my chest. Don't care if anyone
objects or not. No, I'm not going to have a sex-change, although what
I'm considering may be as radical, if not more so.

I think I've decided that the B12 is (a) more powerful than I need, (b)
more powerful than I can currently handle and (c) a significant factor
in my barely-sustainable debt problem right now. It's therefore
becoming increasingly likely that I will trade it in soon, almost
certainly for a nice used B6. Cue calls of "Wimp", "Softy" etc. ****
it. I don't want to, but I think it's the right thing to do as things
stand. I was comfortable with the old 600, whereas the 1200 seems to
need more rider input, if that makes sense; it certainly seems to be
harder work to ride than the B6. I could also do with decreasing the
weight of the millstone around my neck, known as the Bank.

I realise that I've thrown away easily £1000 already on depreciation,
probably nearer £2000. I bought the bike new in December for £5000
straight, can anyone give me an idea what I might be able to get for it?
53-plated GSF1200K3 in dark blue, dealer-fitted Datatool Duo
immobiliser, 2000 miles done, slight evidence of drop on right hand side
(paint scuffed on pulse generator cover and bar ends), currently wearing
Quill T3 can (original still in my possession, could be returned to
    normal state for possible sale).

Alternatively, other possibilities will be considered.

Make sense. I have shitloads more fun on the Drifter and the Z200 than I do
on the Trophy, which is primarily for comfort-addicted pillions.

You need some training at the DC school then )
I think most of us have been there at one time or another Darren. Try
to realise the best value you can get for the bike in the current
climate and buy something affordable for your current circumstances.

And if someone says 'it's only money' tell them to FRO, ok?

    PS...interested in a 400? [1]

[1] Not being serious there, I don't think you'd fit it..

I'm in it right now. Selling one bike to buy a cheaper one might also
not produce any cash of significance. It didn't for me: I mean I got a
few hundred but that didn't go very far.

Stick with it and learn how to juggle ;-)

Well, flogging the Quill and putting it back to stock will generate a
little cash, make the bike slightly less intimidating and/or probably
    make it easier to sell.

If you want a Bandit 6, then you *might* be better off trying to find
someone with a 6 who would prefer a 12? Going to a dealer will mean you
pay his comission, trying for a private swap (there must be a Bandit
mailing list or similar) might be your best option.

THis is what I thought when I considered selling mine.

It just didn't make enough of a difference to make being bikeless
    worthwhile.

Shit, bad luck dude. I know exactly how you feel, having narrowly
escaped doing the same with the Thou a couple of months ago.
I reckon you could get at least 4.5k if you can bring it up
    immaculate.
