its only a urban myth, you are canberra's shortest womin.

go to a bike shop and try something on for size. costs nothing and you
    can always practice your haggling...

On the other hand that same motor in the GSXF750 wouldn't be a bad choice

Ferfuxsakes Al, you're a good bloody 6 inches taller than Betty or I !!
You don't exactly have to worry about it too much.

I've nothing against the Daytona, had it firmly on my shortlist a couple
of years ago until I test rode one and realised that as nice a bike as
it was, it's just too damn tall for a shortarse in stock form. It was
literally the tallest (in real terms not seat) bike I rode, the
combination of seat height and width with insufficient narrowing at the
front to allow you to even slide forward to touch down meant it was
slide the bum cheek off territory, and that is just a bit tall for
comfortable riding. I still flogged it up the Old Rd and back and loved
it, but at the price plus the modification costs I didn't love it enough
to spend 6 grand more than the R1 I ended up buying.

FWIW, IIRC the height of the SVs varied across models, the earlier ones
were lower than the newer, but I think it went back down again recently
(note this is vague recollection, do check facts before relying on it).
The, I think '99, SV of a mate was quite low, but a friends g/f bought a
newer SV and I found it a bit taller.

I'm almost old enough ! At a certain age the purchase of one becomes
    mandatory doesn't it ?

wot...kind of like a short shortlist lol?

The point of my posting is:

    1) "heavy" on paper does not necessarily translate to heavy and unwieldy on
the road. This was indeed alluded to with the other posting to low-pot
Beemers and cruisers. Conversely "light" on paper etc etc.

    2) suspension and seat mods can take care of some of the height issues.

Building on the latter, because the Dayto package has been around for some
time, there's quite a few that have trodden that path with the Daytos.

I still recollect some years back being a 120pound weakling able to
    negotiate around a behemoth GPZ1100 A3. Beast of a bike...Kawasaki Heavy
Industries.. with the emphasis on heavy.

  14. Then I'd recommend putting a Kawasaki shop on your list. The Z750 is a
little gem, not too heavy, good seating position and enough wind
deflection to be helpful, if not exactly a fairing. Reviewers are
rating them ahead of the 1000 for value for money, and they can be had
for very good prices new or second-hand.

Have fun looking; you're on a spiral into hell, but it's impossible to
    resist...

  16. Nah, he's less than that. Deb's 5'2 and she's taller than he is - I have
    the photo to prove it.
