JackH emerged from their own little world to say
I missed that. I had trouble with the first sentence.

You'd understand if you had a slipper clutch, just bang it down
through the box and dump the clutch.

Now spend at least 5 minutes trying to work out if I was serious when
    I wrote that.

Exactly my experience too- doing *nothing* and this includes not braking
and not knocking the throttle shut is (IME) the best way forward. The
bike will probably keep itself upright if you don't **** it up.

I don't think you can plan what you're going to do in the case of a
slide- they're over so fast that by the time you react it's too late in
    any case.

Observation (as others have suggested) is probably key, as is avoiding
small country roads in rural areas which you know will be covered in
shit and mud as the autumn/winter progresses.

I still fail to see how this method would aid in preventing rear wheel
lock-up when applying the rear brake simultaneously on a slippery
    surface.
Now you can spend five minutes wondering a) whether this information
would ever be of use to me and b) whether I actually GAF either way.

I'll have to spend some time thinking about it in a darkened room
because when I'm riding a bike it's all happening a bit too fast for
me to worry about what the **** I'm supposed to be doing next and why
I need to be doing it.
No and no. That took 30 seconds so I've now got a bit of extra time to
worry about how to stop myself locking the back wheel up.

I prefer to just dangle one foot, the right usually. Two is a bit
    gauche.

Look, just because the evidence that you are losing it is overwhelming
there is no excuse for use of the words "us" and "our".

Maintaining your sprag in an undeployed condition would be the easiest
    method, iwt.

Given my current accident trend of the past few weeks it would be
better to extend my life insurance.

Why? Who gives a **** if you do the job properly. I was only suggesting
if you only half do the job that you may appreciate getting an
    appointment this year.

I went to the doctor this week about my flu/voice loss and whilst there
I mentioned a 'lump' that's been happily growing on my jaw for the last
18 months. The doctor asked if I had insurance and then referred me to
the local BUPA hospital; if I had gone with the NHS option it would have
taken at least 9 months to get an appointment. This really sucks
because there is an outside chance it could be a saliva gland that's
misbehaving rather than just a fatty lump.
