Bleedin' 'ellfire, they didn't forecast that last night. Just nice
    bright sun.

I decided to take the CD250 this morning, and was amazed to see traces
of snow by the roadside in Banstead and Epsom. On the M25, the North
Downs were covered, and not just a dusting.

And then I set off down the A21 to Tunbridge Wells....

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/4894934.stm

It was chaos around TW. I couldn't even filter up the middle of the
road because the snow was banked a foot deep between the lanes of
traffic. I was only glad I hadn't taken the Trophy or Ducati. Or,
maybe, even the car, in view of the traffic jams.

The guy I felt really sorry for was the bloke on a VTEC Honda VFR, who
was looking distinctly pissed off as he trickled, feet down, along the
    road.

Oh well, the bike needs cleaning again.....

Would bet he was hoping to not get near the Vtec kick point.

Was looking at the stats today.

Same price as a Sprint ST ABS (£8499 list) yet the Sprint has approx
20% more power, less weight etc.

Honda really need to release something this year I think otherwise
their motorcycle range is looking decidely old fashioned - even the
Fireblade isn't exactly leading the field.

    Couldn't agree more.

Like I said yesterday, they've lost the plot with the CBR600. It's just
not the super all-rounder it was. The sports version looks dowdy
compared with the GSXR and R6, let alone the Triumph 675, and the
    'cooking' version looks even duller.

The VFR with camchains and VTEC has lost almost all the attributes that
made the original VFR so good - instead of a wonderfully flexible bike
with superb engineering, you have a peaky thing with... well, with
    Honda camchains.

I've hardly seen a single 1300 Pan European on the roads, but the old
1100s are everywhere (and used prices are holding up nicely).

1800 Wing? I've seen a couple. It may inded be a better bike but it
doesn't *look* like a Wing. From almost any angle it could be a BMW, or
    a big Yamaha or whatever.

There's hardly anything in the mid-range roadster sector except the VFR
and the Dullsville. The new faired CBF900 is a start, I suppose.

Julian Ryder mumbled something about a possible V5 road bike. How'd that
    be?

It seems to be they were all bought by some f*cker at the Barcelona
police department, who felt the old 1100 ones weren't enough for
patroling a 10x15 miles all urban city area, with an amazing
    "peripherique" just 23kms long.

Guardia Civil and Mossos d'Esquadra use BMW 850 for highway patroling,
and National Police do metropolitan patroling on Deauville 650 (there
must be some 25 janitors per Spanish citizen, I guess) Congratsto our
    beloved city council!

It's nice to buy big bikes using the tax-payers pockets!

Which would cost twice as much to build as to make.

Hey Tog, which of the UJM manufacturers actually makes the most net
    profit?

Came as a bit of a shock to my son who went off to see his girlfriend in
bright sunshine on his CLR125. Came back 6 hours later at about 11.00pm
wet, shivering and covered in snow.

There's nothing in the Honda line-up I'd want to buy. The only bike they
make that's interested me in years is the Blackbird, and that's just not
as good as its competition. I think from every other manufacturer there's
at least one bike which I could stir up a bit of enthusiasm for.

I liked the look of the FMX650, until I saw it only had 37 hp.

heavier and slower than a real supermoto - yeah, that'll work.

Though the Yam actually looks pretty cool.

    what, the Mastiff?

    I think it's fucking awful.

if we're talking about supermoto "cool", it's pretty hard to beat a
    Husky Nox, IMO.
