I've just been to Hull [1], it took 1hr 15mins to get there from
Scarborough, and then 2 more hours to get to the hospital - and the
roads there aren't even icy at all.

Apparently a lorry broke down on the A63, the town centre lights failed,
and then there was an accident. The whole fookin' place was grid-locked.

[1] Mum had to go there for an MRI scan for breast cancer.

I have been waiting in my Leeds office and only setting off for York now.
The feckless cunts should be gone by now.

I was mildly amused [1] that every time I put my foot down too much in
the Landie, it flashes up 'TC' on the dashboard.

    Paul.

I'm meant to be driving to Norwich for work tomorrow, then Yarmouth and
Lowestoft. I called my customers to cnfrm the appointment this evening
and one tells me I have a 1 mile walk because they couldn't get their
LR Discovery up the icy hill to their house. Looks like that job is
scrubbed then, cos I ain't walking more than 100 yards carry my kit in
    this shitty weather

On my way back from the pub last night I was stuck behind a knob driving
some shiity van thing. 15 miles a fucking hour topsd, then we came to a mini
roundabout. He did the left turn and then lost it in a big way. Back end out
to the right, followed by a very swift 270 degree right rotation leaving him
    looking at me.

I was close to wetting myself watching his facial contortions.

My Civic (all 2 wheel drive of it) never slipped a bit.

Poor ****'s probably still there wondering why people are giving him a big
hand instead of a helping hand.

You yoofs! When *I* were a yoof, *every* car[1] was a rear wheel drive,
skinny tyred, lead heavy POS and we never missed a days work because of
    snow. I remember it well.

    [1] probably

REALLY good for tyre life, not to mention disc and pad life. Or fuel
consumption. I bet he doesn't drive like that on snow or on the road which
is where most tyres wear out.

My associate Robin just traded her Boxter in for a new top of the line Smart
Car (not the Brabus though). No I don't get it either (fucking greenies)
but I'd like one as a 4th car all the same.

And there was also probably 10% of the cars on the road that there are
now. So less to clog up the system.

In fact, there will have a been a fair few less people as well.

But you're spot on. I didn't even bother trying today. The roads are not
the problem. The sheer number of people driving incredibly slowly is.
